Why translate Africa

Translating Africa® is an Oba Kunta Octopus service that is developed and established after the realization that Africa need to be clearly understood. This concerns communicating with Africa and Africa communicating effectively with the rest of the world. Effective communication is clearly a major African agenda, the key to Africa's problem lies in demystifying African languages, African people need to speak clearly and be heard. Through effective communication, Africa can bridge the technology gap, choosing the right market, offer the right product and have a winning argument. This is Africa's greatest challenge!!

The African continent has struggled through colonialism to independence. African nations are seeking to work through the political and economic challenges of that experience. Settlements in Africa vary greatly, from rural villages to cities that exhibit Western and Middle Eastern influence. Geography varies from savanna to desert to tropical rainforests; from the snowy heights of Mount Kilimanjaro to the Great Rift Valley to the riverbeds of the Nile. Africa’s people are as diverse as the landscape. They are nomadic camel herders, computer network specialists, subsistence farmers and seminary professors.

Africa is the world’s second-largest continent in size and population. Home to one-seventh of the world’s population, Africa contains 20 percent of the earth’s land (more than 30 million sq. km) and more than 30,000 km of coastline. Africa is home to thirty percent of the world’s languages. More than 800 language groups have translation needs. Seven hundred are in the heart of Africa--in Nigeria and francophone Africa.

Translation has become crucial in today's global, technology-focused economy. And this is where Translating Africa® can help you by becoming your translation services provider! In order reach new audiences abroad, to export and to fine-tune Africa's communications,

How we work:
A designated Translating Africa® representative manages the customer relationship, defining the project requirements (deadline, style, terminology, target audience and other factors). Based on this information, a freelancer performs project administration, distributing files among all the translators involved, including the proofreader, who will make the final quality check.

Every project has a dedicated technical assistant, accessible to all team members. The project manager verifies the final translation and delivers it to the customer. Some related tasks are creating a bilingual glossary, and sourcing reference material or law excerpts.
